Cosmo Canyon ft. Pallmer

by Post Coal Prom Queen

/

about

We're releasing this track to celebrate our first Canadian shows! We'll be performing in Montreal and Toronto with Pallmer, the string duo who contributed the stunning strings to this song. It's named Cosmo Canyon after a village in Final Fantasy VII - the arrangement used to have a synth that sounded like it was from that particular part of the FFVII soundtrack.

This track is part of the Flourish Festival collaboration series between Scottish and Canadian artists. PCPQ assisted Flourish in curating the Scottish acts and were delighted to be asked to contribute a song to the project.

This song is inspired by Nick Bostrom's essay 'In The Great Silence There Is Great Hope'. It was recorded at the same time as our album 'Music for First Contact' and can be considered an extension of that universe.

lyrics

Turn your radios down now
Turn your dishes around now
No news is good news
No news is good news

The silence of the night sky
It is golden

Put your cigarette out on
Your scribbled frequency maps now
Scientists and fantatics alike
Let's all go on strike
The silence of the night sky
It is golden

Where are they?
Where are they?
Numbers in silence say
There is a reason why
Loneliness is a sign
